About This Project

Dan Kaufman

Hi, I’m Dan Kaufman, a gay man living in Arlington, Virginia. I started this grass-roots campaign to build awareness and spread the important messages addressed here. This campaign is not a nonprofit, although I am trying to support existing nonprofit organizations by selling the merchandise in bulk at low prices, so that the message can be carried as far as possible and help raise money for their work.

Why another website about equality? Because I feel this particular message—that LGBT people and our allies need to be aware of and support each other—was missing from the national debate. The dehumanization of gay people is particularly difficult to fight, as it’s so prevalent and accepted. When a widely-held belief is that the Bible says homosexuality is a sin (even though the term “homosexual” wasn’t even coined until the late 1800s!), we need to be particularly vigilant in combating the fear and hateful, hurtful attacks.

I encourage visitors to support the organizations—both local and national—fighting to keep the American Dream alive for all of this country's citizens, not just a privileged segment. Together we can bring the United States closer and closer to the promise of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” for everyone.

Thanks for visiting this site. Now go change the world!
